JOHN DESORMEAU OF PHILADELPHIA LODGE 916 RECEIVES AWARDS FOR 50 YEARS SERVICE TO MASONRY

Mark Leeson, his wife Karen, and Ron Sinclair traveled to Delray Beach, Florida, on Wednesday, March 30, 2019 to present John Desormeau, of Philadelphia Lodge 916, with his 50 year apron, certificate and pin. John and Ron attended Theresa high school together back in the 1950’s. They hadn’t seen each other since working together at Boldt Castle back in 1959. John graduated from RIT; spent 10 years in the army as a ranger and paratrooper leading his own rifle squad in Vietnam, receiving numerous battle citations. He left the army as a captain, received computer training and worked for many years with various computer companies, including his own. He is currently retired and limits his involvement to consulting one day a week. He is a high level black belt in Karate, among other other marshal arts. He limits his karate exercises these days to the non-throwing variety since, at 80 he doesn’t bounce as well as he used to. His great love these days is nature photography and woodworking which are prominently on display in his home.
